RCC hosts more than 120 international students who come from all over the world. Many of the students come from Asia, especially Japan and Korea, and most do not have the opportunity to travel home for holidays. The Thanksgiving Feast is a particularly welcome event for the students, some of whom are far away from home and family for the first time.
The celebration is partially funded by a generous donation from the Palisades Federal Credit Union. The DeCicco Family Markets graciously donate the turkeys for the feast each year. All the food is prepared by students in the College’s Hospitality Program under the direction of Wendy Gordon. Faculty and administration volunteers decorate the Student Union and serve the buffet.
