MVCC to offer personal trainer certification

MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education announces open registration for non-credit Personal Trainer Certification training. The intensive course provides all the information and training needed to get started as a personal fitness trainer in one weekend. New this semester is a Pilates workshop that will enhance your personal trainer certification.

Here’s your chance to become a certified Personal Trainer in one intensive weekend. Personal Training Certification from the Personal Training Institute of America will prepare you for a successful career as a Certified Personal Trainer. With Americans becoming more aware of the impact that physical fitness has on their long-term health, the need for individuals with an in-depth knowledge of personal fitness and who have the ability to provide personal training and fitness instruction is rapidly rising. PTIA is a premiere personal training school that will give you the education, skills and insight to become a valued professional as a certified personal trainer, ready to enter the workforce! Our two-day intensive program includes 16 hours of lecture, demonstrations, and practical hands-on application. An online final exam will be taken after the class is complete.

There are no prerequisites to participate in this program. Text and materials are purchased separately for $65 on the first day of class. Please bring check or cash to receive materials. Note: CPR certification needs to be obtained before final certification. 10-hour Internship/Shadowing period also required for final certification. Dress in gym clothes and bring lunch and a mat. This class will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., in Utica. The cost is $449.
