The Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute (MCCTI) will be offering an opportunity for students to take the necessary training to become a casino dealer in Massachusetts.
The next Blackjack Dealer Class runs from April 15 to June 4. The class meets Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Immediately following Blackjack is the Carnival Games Course which runs during the same time frame and ends on July 9.
Individuals who know two games are guaranteed an audition with MGM. Ideally, a student can start class on April 15, be certified in two games and possibly be working by late July.
Current MGM dealers have been hired by MCCTI to serve as instructors so the course work is effective and realistic. The classroom is conveniently located on the grounds of MGM Springfield, and the tables, chips and cards are close replicas of the ones used on the casino floor.
The cost for the two classes is $600. However, Massachusetts residents may be eligible for a scholarship that could cover some or possibly all of the cost.
MCCTI – a partnership between Holyoke Community and Springfield Technical Community Colleges – is authorized by the state of Massachusetts to provide the training required to become a licensed dealer.
