Columbia-Greene Community College, a campus of the State University of New York, has been named the best community college in New York State and one of the top 10 community colleges in the country by WalletHub®: a personal finance research, surveying, and review body.
Placing tenth out of 710 community colleges in the U.S., C-GCC rose to the top spot in the state rankings in the areas of cost and financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes.
Data used to create this ranking were collected from the National Center for Education Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research, and College Measures, and analyzed using 19 different metrics ranging from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to retention rates and overall return on investment. The report also underscored the overall affordability of a community-college education. All of the colleges ranked are member institutions in the American Association of Community Colleges, though WalletHub and the AACC are not affiliated.
During the 2018 to 2019 academic year, tuition and fees for full-time, in-state enrollment at a public two-year college averaged $3,660 per year across the country, as opposed to $10,320 at a public, four-year institution, and $35,830 at a four-year private school.
C-GCC ranked 24th in the country and second in the state in 2017-2018. For more information, please call 518-828-4181, ext. 3327.
