This month’s prize
This month, we’re working with Broadway’s “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.”
See our contest on page 1 to possibly win two tickets, or buy tickets via www.lightningthiefmusical.com or by calling Telecharge at 212-239-6200.
The show is at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway only for a limited time, ending its run shortly after the New Year. Tickets make a great holiday gift!
The Boston Globe says, “[‘The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical’] is a blast – and that’s no myth! It has something for everybody!”
Other newspapers say: “With one foot in ‘Harry Potter’ and another in ‘Dear Evan Hansen,’” (Chicago Tribune) this “winning adaptation” (Hollywood Reporter) of the bestselling Disney-Hyperion novel by Rick Riordan is “electrifying!” (Newsday) and “hits the sweet spot!” (Wall Street Journal).
Chicago Parent adds: “As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods. Featuring a thrilling original rock score, ‘The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical’ is a spectacularly fun adventure that will thrill everyone in the family!”
Last month’s winners (see page 26)
We don’t see The New York Times doing this for their readers. Just sayin’…
Last month, in honor of our TENTH ANNIVERSARY YEAR, we picked 10 winners to get two tickets each to Six Flags Great Escape in Upstate New York. They have Fright Fest going on through Oct. 27. Motels are cheap in Lake George this time of year, so maybe make the trek yourself. See some fall foliage along the way.
Pictured on page 26, top to bottom (L-R): Emily Bikkal, Business Management major at Westchester Community College; Justice June, Psychology major at the University at Albany; Aleeza De Las Alas, Nursing major; Nassau Community College; Michael Loyd, Business major, Mohawk Valley Community College (Utica Campus); Keosha Brown, Early Childhood Education major at Queensborough Community College; Belinda M. Dolan, Early Childhood Education major at Westchester Community College; Julija Parisi, Nursing major, Queensborough Community College; Corinne Moskal, Physics major, Holyoke Community College; Erica Pacheco, Creative Writing major Holyoke Community College; and Ashley Birch, Business Administration major at Suffolk County Community College (Ammerman Campus).
Overall, we’ve given away scores of Six Flags tickets in the past year, along with many Broadway tickets and ski lift passes. It’s our way of celebrating our readers.
We’re always looking for opportunities to reward our readers. If you know of a business interested in giveaways, contact us!
Campus News creates more and more buzz each year. It’s proof that print media isn’t dead. And it certainly isn’t dead with the college generation.
