In recognition of Black History Month, The SUNY Ulster Campus Life Multicultural Series will be presenting Hip Hop artist JB!! Aka Dirty Moses & DJ Trumastr on Wednesday February 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery, Vanderlyn Hall, room 265 on the Stone Ridge campus. There will be a Video Rebroadcast at the Kingston Center of SUNY Ulster, located at 94 Mary’s Avenue, Kingston, NY on Tuesday, February 18, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
A 1970’s cultural revolution steeped in knowledge of self, music, graffiti art, break dancing, DJ’ing and emceeing became the global phenomenon called Hip Hop. Artist, JB!! Aka Dirty Moses & DJ Trumastr will give a brief lesson and demonstration on the history and reasoning behind the Hip Hop movement.
JB!! aka Dirty Moses is a recording artist, DJ, producer, rapper-singer-songwriter from Harlem, NY living in Albany. A natural showman, JB!! is well known for his energy and charisma on stage as well as his diverse arsenal of verbal weaponry. DJ Trumastr was voted Albany, NY’s best DJ several years in a row. Trumastr applies his impressive knowledge and understanding of music in his turntablism and work. He thinks about music in a clever and unique way, personally hand picking each song creating the perfect soundtrack for every event.
