Sage is a “best value” college

U.S. News & World Report ranked Russell Sage College as a “Best Value” and cited the college for its success with “Social Mobility” as part of the publication’s recently released 2022-2023 “Best Colleges” listings.

Ranked 36th in the National University category for Best Value, Russell Sage College, with campuses in Troy and Albany, shares the distinction with prestigious universities like Harvard (No.1),  Cornell (No. 20), Georgetown University (No. 39) and Boston College (No. 50). These ratings reflect a combination of the affordability of Russell Sage College with the return on the investment its graduates find after graduation.

The college ranked 14th for Social Mobility and 36th for Best Value among national universities. Russell Sage College also was listed at 219 overall in the national universities category.

The Top Performers on Social Mobility list highlights schools that have had success graduating large proportions of economically disadvantaged students, a population that is less likely than others to complete a college degree. U.S. News considers the percentage of enrolled and graduated students who have been awarded Pell grants to create the list. According to U.S. News, the vast majority of federal Pell grants are awarded to students with annual household incomes below $50,000.

This is the third year in a row Russell Sage College has ranked high atop the Social Mobility category.
