Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month at RCC

Join Rockland Community College (RCC) in celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month with an exciting schedule of events from April 15 through May 1. RCC has organized a wide variety of activities as well as virtual documentaries and recordings to engage students, families, faculty, and staff. All events are free and open to the public. This year's theme, "Embracing Heritage, Celebrating Cultures," is reflected throughout the festivities.

For this year's celebration, the committee will host multiple fun and engaging events, including a presentation on “The Impact of AAPI on American professional Wrestling,” Book Talks on Solo Leveling (Comic) and The Memory Police (Fiction), workshops on “Getting to Know Chopsticks” and “Make Your Own Origami.” We will also bring back our popular “Pop-Up Stands for Asian Treats.” Starting from the third week of April to the second week of May, the RCC Cafeteria will offer delicious Asian & Pacific Islander cuisines. Most importantly, we will pay tribute to Dr. Liya Li, who has been teaching and serving at RCC for 30 years and co-chaired the committee for the first celebration in 2005. Please visit the following website for more details and for a complete calendar of events.
