To herald the arrival of Subaru University as a new option for Automotive Technology students, Columbia-Greene Community College will host a Subaru-U Barbeque on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. READ OUR PREVIOUS STORY HERE.
At the event, representatives from Subaru University – a technician training program for enrolled Automotive Technology degree students – will “hand over the keys” to C-GCC, recognizing the college as its newest partner.
Members of the Subaru Rally Team USA will be on hand with a car in which fans can sit and have photos taken and a 40-foot customized trailer that includes wall-mounted flat screens rolling rally footage, parts displays, Subaru artwork, and other mini-exhibits. The event will also include food and giveaways.
A partnership between Subaru of America and Subaru retailers, Subaru-U works exclusively with high-performing, ASE Education Foundation-accredited programs like C-GCC’s to deliver online training that supports on-campus instruction. Subaru-U offers Level 1 and Level 2 Subaru technical training courses that, once completed, qualify Automotive Technology students for employment at any Subaru dealership in the country. It’s the only program of its kind in Columbia and Greene counties, and one of only seven in New York State.
