Five Towns College to present Shakespeare

The Award Winning Five Towns College Theatre Company is presenting A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Fri.-Sat., April 26 & 27 @ 7:30, and Sunday, April 28 @ 3 pm. The press is invited to attend the performance on Saturday, April 27 at the College’s Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the General Public are $15 for adults, and $12 Students and Seniors.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a Shakespearean comedy that focuses around the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons. Most of the play takes place in a forest that is inhabited by the fairies that control six amateur actors. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is all about the very amusing events that lead up to the wedding, including adventures of four young Athenian lovers.

The audience will watch Five Towns College students sing, dance and act on stage; the triple threat combination of skills and abilities that they learn in the Theatre Arts program at the college. Also,  the musical will give the local community a look at the creative set on stage that the Theatrical Design and Technology students have built and insight into the behind the scenes education that takes place on campus.
