Save Ferris! A day of leisure at SUNY Ulster

SUNY Ulster will host an outdoor Music & Movie event on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 on its bucolic Stone Ridge campus.  The event will be free, open to the public and will accept donations for the Ulster Community College Foundation’s Lights for Learning Emergency Student Fund, which benefits SUNY Ulster students by providing emergency grants, loans, book grants, and scholarships, that are often pivotal for students to continue on their educational paths.  According to Foundation Executive Director Lorraine Salmon, “I have witnessed time and again how the generous donations to our Lights for Learning program have kept a student from having to withdraw from college due to an unforeseen financial emergency.”

Come join the fun on the Library Plaza steps at SUNY Ulster at 7:00 p.m. and listen to the hvJAZZ/SUNY Ulster Jazz Ensemble under the co-direction of Dan Shaut & Bob Shaut as they perform the iconic sounds of Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Count

Basie, and Thelonious Monk.  Then, set up your picnic blankets and lawn chairs, enjoy some delicious food truck dining, and watch the big screen, sunset screening of the 1986 classic movie: “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

Come for the music…stay for Bueller? Bueller?
