Rockland Community College invites the public to view the exceptional work of its Art Department Photo faculty in a collective exhibition at the New City Library from November 2-30, 2019. The exhibit features the photography of Collette V. Fournier, who is also the curator of the exhibit, Eileen MacAvery Kane, RCC Art department chair, Sara Macel, Photography Program Coordinator, Adjunct faculty members Lili Grady, Marc Russell, Leslie Hanes, and Dyana Van Campen. Many of the talented faculty have been teaching at RCC for over twenty years, while simultaneously producing new work. Sara Macel’s work will be featured in an upcoming exhibit, “Photography Now,” at the Center for Photography at Woodstock in November 2019. The title of the exhibit, “Collective Vision,” encompasses both the depth and breadth of their explorations into a wide range of topics including identity, mythology, and place, as well as a variety of photographic techniques from traditional darkroom prints to digitally manipulated art. Ms. Fournier states, “Our faculty members were excited about the prospect of exhibiting together, with everyone contributing ideas on organizing the display—the result is truly a “Collective Vision.”
The photography will be displayed at the New City Library, 220 North Main Street, New City, NY, for the month of November from 9 am – 9 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 11 am – 6 pm on Fridays, 9 am – 5 pm on Saturdays, and 12 noon – 5 pm on Sundays. An Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, November 7, from 6 pm – 9 pm. Admission is free and open to the community.
