The weekly program charges MetzWood Insurance employees to with choosing a non-profit organization in the community that is important to them to support. Matthew Wood, partner and president of Metzwood Insurance, chose the C-GCC Foundation due in part to the financial advantages it offers its students, from lower tuition costs to robust scholarship programs and emergency assistance efforts, and beyond.
“Many people may not realize it, but Columbia-Greene is one of the best assets our community has,” said Wood. “Columbia-Greene helps develop a strong workforce and keep young people in our community – two things which will be critical to the long-term viability of our area.
Given the current student debt crisis and online learning environments, Columbia-Greene is also a smart choice for students who would like to earn the same credits at a significantly reduced cost,” he continued. “The Columbia-Greene Community College Foundation raises funds to ensure all students who wish to attend are financially able to do so. From full scholarships to gas cards to child-care assistance, the Foundation’s work allows countless students to earn their education and improve their lives.”
