Small college basketball wins big on Long Island

While Long Island college basketball fans have been waiting in vain for a local big college team to earn a championship berth of any type, this weekend only Five Towns College will be making any real noise on the floorboards when small college championship basketball comes to its campus in Dix Hills.

After entering into intercollegiate level athletics just four years ago, this year a resurgent Five Towns College Athletic Department will host the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Championship games in the Sound Arena on its Dix Hills Campus.

The excitement begins on Saturday, February 26th, when #1 ranked Berkeley College takes on #4 ranked The King’s College in a Semifinal Game that begins at 2 p.m.

The Host Team: #3 ranked Five Towns College will take on the #2 ranked Word of Life Bible College in a Semifinal game that begins at 4 p.m.

The winner of those semifinal games with tipoff on Sunday, February 27th at 3:30 p.m. in the Sound Arena.

For the Women’s Final, #1 ranked Five Towns College will take on #2 ranked Berkeley College on Sunday, February 27th at 1 p.m.

You can pray that one of the larger local colleges will earn a Sweet 16 berth someday… maybe, or you can see real exciting basketball on the small college level right this weekend in Dix Hills.  Learn more about the Five Towns Sound Basketball Team at: 5 Players Score Double Digits As FTC Men’s Basketball Team Earns Spot In HVIAC Tournament | Five Towns College
